Stock, Non-Stock and Custom Tiles

With the debut of our new product collection brochure, we have slightly altered the way we refer to certain tile. In attempt to simplify a few things we hope to make the tile selection process an easy one. Previously we referred to our tile as either “in stock” or “custom”.  Now, we place our tile into three different categories; in stock, non-stock and custom. With 5 profiles, 81 stocked colors, 1000’s of stocked blends, 28 non-stocked products and our custom product options, you will be sure to find exactly what you are looking for at Entegra. But first, let’s take a look at exactly what each category means.

TruckStock Tile – This refers to our standard products that we keep in the yard. For your convenience and our efficiency, these are already produced and ready for pick up or delivery! In stock tile includes our most popular products.  As you can see with 81 colors and 1000’s of blends to choose from we stock an enormous amount of tile in the yard just waiting for your order!

ClockNon-Stock Tile –While we make these 28 different products often, we do not keep these in the yard; therefore they are made to order. Standard pricing applies. Non-stocked items are available within three to four weeks but don’t forget to check with your roofer on lead times.

Custom Tile –At Entegra we understand that an off-the-shelf roofing product may not work for every home. With our state-of-the-art production facility and our sophisticated equipment, we are able to produce nearly any color imaginable. This is where we continue to offer you the opportunity to create a roof that will be a perfect fit for your home. By choosing a base color, antique/flashing and then a texture, you can create your own unique roof tile. Our product ID system makes it easy to manipulate each element to get exactly what you are looking for. For example, after choosing a base color, select an antique and texture combination to achieve the style you are looking for. A white antique on a Tan tile has a much different style that Tan tile with black and brown antique.  Here’s a sample of our product ID System and how we identify each part of a product.

As always we recommend making your final color selection from full size samples. And when choosing custom tile, it is important to keep in mind that tile is constructed with raw materials and even though we are careful in the raw materials that we purchase, variations are inevitable. Roof tiles cannot be manufactured to a perfect match, but we can get pretty darn close! If you desire a specific color that we do not have already, be sure to give us a swatch or color sample for us to match when making custom samples.

Custom tile is made to order but can be produced within three to four weeks. Standard pricing also applies to custom tile, however for custom products there is a one time set up fee. Please contact your roofer to confirm lead times and associated set up fees.

We hope this clears a few things up for you and simplifies your tile selection process. For more information please visit our website at www.entegra.com. You’ll be glad you did!

Our Newest Product Collection Brochure is Hot off the Press!

For the past few weeks we have taken a break from our social media to concentrate on getting our new Product Collection Brochure ready for you. We are thrilled to announce it is hot off the press!

Cover

We’ve made a few changes from years past, and we hope you’ll find it easier than ever to use. One of the first changes you’ll notice is that each profile collection is comprised of stock and non-stock items:

  • Stock products are identified by the truck icon – these products are stocked and typically available for pick-up or delivery.
  • Non-stock products are identified by the clock icon – these products have standard pricing, but the item is made to order. You can generally expect to see non-stock items within four weeks.

Entegra will continue to offer Custom Products which are outlined on Pages 34 and 35 of the new brochure.

The Quick Code has made its debut in our new catalog. Each product has been given a unique four digit code. Rather than stating the profile, base color, antique color, texture and more when referring to a particular product, you can now simply utilize the Quick Code to identify each product and blend. If you’re more comfortable with our traditional Product ID though, you’re welcome to continue to use that until you become familiar with the Quick Codes. It should also be noted that smooth textures, whether the tile has been sealed, and the location of nail holes have been omitted from this catalog’s Product IDs. For instance, S-CACL-AA-Y-SM-15 has been shortened to S-CACL-AA in the new catalog.

As always, we know everyone loves to see as many house photos as possible. In addition to images sprinkled throughout the catalog, we’ve included six pages of photo galleries for your viewing pleasure. These are great inspiration for home owners! If you haven’t seen this edition yet, no worries – your sales rep should be around soon with your copy. You can also find our newest brochure at a distributor near you or even right here on our website. Happy browsing!

Ordering Samples for Custom Tile

At Entegra, we offer both stocked and custom products. Samples of our stock tiles are widely available; you can pick these up at one of our design centers, distributor locations, through a Sales Rep or even delivered to your home by ordering samples from our website.

Samples of a custom product, however, are a different story. A custom product is –you guessed it–custom. That particular product is made specifically for one individual job. When the custom tile is produced, we try to keep a piece or two as a sample to have on hand for future reference, but often times we can not provide a ready-made sample for custom orders. Samples become outdated over the decades; sometimes they are loaned out, but never returned; raw material suppliers change, tweaking formulas and thus final products. Further, we just don’t have enough space to store samples of every product we’ve ever created.

Over the years, we’ve noticed that customers considering custom tile typically fall into two camps:

  1. Those going for a particular look, who are not concerned with precision
  2. Those looking for an particular color that will either make or break their project

Clients who fall into the first camp have usually seen a stocked product that is close to what they want, but they might desire the end product to be a little darker, lighter or with a different antique applied. They are excited to see what is produced and know the tile will look fabulous at any shade within the approximate spectrum. Though we still recommend a custom sample be produced, we understand why some customers forgo the time delay and cost.

Other clients need a very close match for their custom tile. Maybe they are trying to replicate a neighbor’s house, a magazine photo or even simply the image they have in their mind. For these clients, it is IMPERATIVE that a sample is created before placing the final order. Because there is no return policy for custom tile orders, we cannot recommend ordering a sample highly enough. When a customer signs the “release for production” waiver, they are the proud new owner of their custom tile.

As always, keep in mind that concrete roof tiles are produced using raw materials. Entegra makes every effort to minimize the variations of these natural ingredients, but no manufacturer can completely eliminate them. A sample is a great way to ensure your final product is produced as close to your chosen color as possible, but it should be stated that even exact formulas produce varying results. In our opinion, that is the beauty of our products – if you require rigid results, you’ll need to paint your roof!

To order a custom sample, contact your Sales Rep. To make a custom sample, production of our standard tile must be stopped. The equipment is then thoroughly cleaned and machinery is outfitted with necessary attachments. Just like you can’t make a ‘batch’ of one cookie, likewise you can’t make a batch of one piece of tile. Due to the time, labor and materials required for making a sample, there is a small fee for custom samples, so that we know that you are serious about moving forward with your order.

Because of the nature of the beast regarding variations and producing samples, most roof tile manufacturers don’t even offer the option of custom tile. At Entegra, we understand that the roofing product is a distinguishing design element for any project, and sometimes an extra special product is required. We would be honored if you allowed us to create it for you. Just do us a favor – order a sample first!
